Material: Genuine ostrich shin — the scaled plating from the bird's
leg, not the quill-follicle body hide most "ostrich" goods use. Shin
is harder, denser and far more abrasion-resistant. A single bird
yields only two usable shin panels.
Colour: Hand-dyed in indigo, applied in layers. The pigment pools in
the low grain and thins across the raised plates, so the colour shifts
from near-black to bright steel as the light moves.
Interior: Full-grain black calfskin, left unlined. No synthetic
backing. What sits against your cards is real leather.
Construction: 100% hand-sewn using traditional saddle-stitching and
heavy-duty waxed thread in cobalt blue. If one stitch fails, the rest
hold. Machine stitching unravels from the first.
Capacity: 8 card slots and a full-length bill compartment.
Dimensions: 10.4 cm × 8 cm × 1.7 cm.
Note on the hide: Ostrich shin is a natural material. Plate size,
spacing and the way each panel takes the dye vary from piece to piece.
Yours will not look exactly like the photographs — it will look like
itself.

This is shin: the scaled plating from the leg. Harder, denser, and one bird yields only two usable panels. That ratio is the whole price difference.

Industrial leather is drum-dyed — submerged, tumbled, uniform. The
Otrik is dyed by hand, in layers.
Pigment settles in the low grain and thins across the raised plates, so the indigo shifts from
near-black to steel as you turn it. The variation is the finish.
ONE VISIBLE DECISION
No logo, no plaque, no hardware. The only sign a human made this is the cobalt thread running the perimeter — saddle-stitched by hand at a tension no machine reproduces.
If one stitch breaks, the rest hold. Backed in writing for ten years.
